The tennis section of the club boasts eight courts, 6 astro and two all weather acrylic (the red ones) which are playable all year round. Three courts are also floodlit which is free and are switched on from dusk until 10 p.m. The club has seven men's teams and four ladies teams who play in the Herts league and there is also mixed team that plays in a Watford and District league so if you are interested in playing competitive tennis then Townsend is an excellent place to be.
