In 2007, the under 16s (pictured here) came a very close second to Broxbourne in the Under 16 Summer County league. “It was a fantastic first-time achievement for the girls in what is the top county league for their age group,” comments Sally Griffith, the Ladies Captain at Townsend Tennis Club.
Townsend Tennis club now has a very strong junior section, overseen by Head coach Matt Foster. For the first time in the club's history, it will have teams competing in all age groups (10 and under to 18 and under) in the National Junior league as well as in all age groups in the Hertfordshire leagues (8 and under through to 16 and under).
